Now I want to look at all of my capitals and check them for consistency. They all should look one style, from one alphabet, sharing slant, common stroke shapes, has the right amount of similarity and diversity. I broke them into logical groups for ease of comparing. And below are the first errors that I spotted looking at my capital alphabet as a whole.
So in the coming days I’ll be busy correcting them.
Today I am finishing my capitals with the obvious last chord: ‘Z’. The shape is similar to lowercase, with slightly longer bottom stroke, which will look as a kind of flourish beside a line of lowercase shapes. Note also, that when some stroke goes below baseline, I try to relate it to the similar off-beat stroke. So this Z-tail goes as low as the downstroke of ‘K’.
Anyway, all of the capitals should be tested for consistency now, which I am going to do in my next postings.
